Everyone Betrayed Me While I Carried His Baby Chapter 11
“Didn’t I tell you? I want nothing to do with you! Why do you keep bothering me?”
I immediately pulled the old man behind me and slapped Jenna hard across the face.
“How could you treat him like this?”
“He adopted you. For more than twenty years, he raised you as his own daughter.”
“The only reason you got to go to college was because he found me online and begged me to sponsor you, to bring you to New York.”
“And now? For money and this life you have, you’re going to disown the man who raised you?”
I could still remember the first time I went to her home.
Jenna’s father wore clothes that were washed nearly white with age. He was thin and looked older than his years.
Jenna, meanwhile, wore a clean dress, her hair tied back neatly.
“Jenna, is this true? That’s horrible.”
My mother looked at her, the disappointment in her eyes impossible to hide.
My father was frozen, his face a mask of disbelief.
“Don’t get too comfortable,” I said. “There’s one more gift.”
I raised my hand again.
A man walked onto the stage.
A long scar ran down his face, from the corner of his eye to his mouth.
But many people in the room recognized him.
Marco Bellini. Adriana’s older brother.
Adriana ran to him, tears streaming down her face.
“Marco? You’re not dead? You’re alive? You’re really alive?”
Marco’s eyes reddened.
He hugged his sister, but when he looked at Jenna, his gaze was murderous.
