“It was Jenna. She hired someone to run my car off a mountain road. If I hadn’t gotten lucky, I’d be dead.”
“You’re lying!” Jenna shrieked, backing away in a panic.
“I don’t even know you. Why would I want to hurt you?”
“You don’t know me?” Marco sneered, stalking toward her.
“The baby you’re holding is mine, and you’re telling me you don’t know me?”
As the words left his mouth, he raised his hand and slapped her across the face.
A scream and the sound of shattering glass echoed through the room.
He grabbed Jenna by the hair with one hand and pulled out his phone with the other.
On the screen were explicit photos of him and Jenna in bed.
“She was with me from the start. That baby is mine.”
“After my father died last year, the family business went through a rough patch. She immediately decided to dump me and use my child to get her hooks into Cassian Lombardi.”
“To keep me from exposing her, this psycho even hired someone to kill me.”
“Jenna, how dare you touch my brother!”
Adriana’s face contorted with rage. She launched herself at Jenna, and the two began to fight.
“If you weren’t carrying my brother’s child, why do you think I kept helping you?”
“You bitch. You almost killed my brother and made me turn on a friend I’ve known for twenty years.”
Jenna couldn’t take it anymore. She slapped Adriana back.
“Enough!” she screamed.
“You think you and your brother are so innocent?”
“Your brother sleeps with everyone and never takes responsibility. He tried to force me to have an abortion!”
“And you? You’re just jealous of Seren. You couldn’t compete with her grades, her family, or the man she married.”
“You’re the one who came to me! You said we were the same, that we should work together to push Seren out of the picture.”
