He Cheated With My Friend My Parents Helped Chapter 17

I walked past him and unlocked my door.

“Now that you’re done, please leave. You standing outside my door makes me uncomfortable.”

I shut the door in his face.

That night, a sudden gust of cold air woke me from a deep sleep.

I opened my eyes and saw a dark figure climbing over the railing from the neighboring balcony and dropping silently onto mine.

Adrenaline shot through me. I lunged for my phone to call the police.

Before I could dial, the man slid open the balcony door and grabbed my hand.

In the faint light from the street below, I saw it was Gabriel.

He was breathing hard.

“If I’d slipped just now, I could have fallen to my death, Mags.”

I yanked my hand free.

“Let go of me. Get out of my apartment now, or I’m calling the cops.”

He released me instantly, then dropped to his knees on the carpet beside my bed.

“Julian was there earlier. There were things I couldn’t say.”

“Margot Archer, please, just hear me out.”

“I know I was wrong. But I don’t want to give up on ten years. I know you can’t bear to, either.”

“Give me one more chance. If you’re willing, I will spend the rest of my life making up for every bit of pain I caused you.”

He sounded utterly sincere, but all I felt was a cold wave of disgust.

“You think I gave up easily? You lied to me for years.”

“Gabriel, why do you think that just because you admit you were wrong, I’m obligated to forgive you?”
