He Deceived Me So I Destroyed His Family’s Legacy Chapter 03

I felt like I was choking on blood.

“Who?”

“Who did this to you?”

Adrian stood by the door, his face a thundercloud.

“She’s delirious.”

Rage burned through me.

“Adrian, how long are you going to lie to me?”

A soft laugh came from the hallway.

“What’s all the shouting about?”

Julian strolled in, carrying a gift bag from a jewelry store.

He glanced at Lily on the bed, then at me.

“Oh, Nora’s here too.”

“Good.”

“Talk some sense into her.”

“She’s always so scared of me, like I’ve actually done something to her.”

As he spoke, he took a step toward the bed.

Lily shrank back violently, then forced a smile.

It looked worse than crying.

“You’re here.”

“I’m so happy.”

“Dear Julian.”

My mind exploded with rage.

The little sister I had protected my whole life, the girl who used to blush and hide behind me at the sight of a stranger—now broken into this.

I shot to my feet, grabbed the medicine cup from the nightstand, and hurled it at him.

The glass grazed his shoulder and shattered on the floor.

Liquid splashed across his shirt.

Julian’s expression soured.

“Nora, are you insane?”

I lunged at him.

“I’ll kill you!”

Adrian caught me from behind, his arm locking around my waist.

“Nora.”

“That’s enough.”

“You’re not stable. Don’t frighten Lily.”

I heard his words and let out a sharp, broken laugh.

“I’m frightening her?”

“Adrian, look at her. Take a good look.”

“Who do you think she’s really afraid of?”

Adrian was silent for a beat.

That one beat told me everything.

I slowly turned to face him.

“You knew.”

“You knew all along, didn’t you?”

Adrian lowered his eyes.

He didn’t deny it.

He only said in a low voice, “Julian went too far.”

“I’ll punish him.”
