He Left Me For My Sister Now He Begs For Me Back Chapter 18
The day before my sister’s wedding, Sebastian came.
This time, he didn’t try to enter the house. He just had the gate security pass an envelope to me.
Maya asked, “Are you going to read it?”
At first, I wanted to say no.
Then I reconsidered and opened it.
After all, starting tomorrow, according to the Pack registry, he would officially be my sister’s husband.
The letter was long, filled with memories of the past.
Flying kites together as children. The time I was sick at twelve and he climbed the garden wall to bring me medicine. The night my grandfather died, when I hid in the greenhouse crying and he stayed with me until dawn.
At the end, he wrote:
*Adeline, these past few days, I can’t stop wondering—if you hadn’t agreed so easily that day, if you had cried or made a scene, if you had grabbed my arm and told me I couldn’t marry Victoria, would everything be different?*
When I reached that part, I laughed.
So even in his regret, his first thought wasn’t *I shouldn’t have broken my promise.*
It was *Why didn’t you stop me?*
As if I needed to perform my pain loudly enough for him to understand he had hurt me.
As if my silence had been a failing of its own.
I handed the letter to Maya.
“Destroy this for me.”
She hesitated.
“No reply?”
“No reply.”
Then I added, “And tell security that from now on, anything from the Black family intended only for me should not be passed on.”
