He Let Me Bleed So I Let Him Go Chapter 13
By the time Dante saw the message, noon was fast approaching.
He dropped everything and rushed home.
Elena was pale, and he had assumed she was just weak from the car accident.
She wouldn’t look at him, and he had assumed she was just trying to get his attention.
The truth was, she had just terminated their pregnancy and nearly bled to death on an operating table.
That same night, Bianca had lied again, claiming there was an emergency at the club.
When Dante arrived, he’d found nothing more than a post-meeting drinking session. Bianca had someone call Elena, luring her there just to say those words in public.
Elena had just gotten off the operating table. Her body hadn’t even begun to heal.
But she got the call, thought he was in danger, and came running.
After Bianca humiliated her, she threw a glass of wine.
And he had decided she was the one who didn’t understand the rules.
He suspended her protection. He had her thrown out.
When she apologized, bleeding on the pavement, he hadn’t even looked at her closely.
After that, she was forced to attend the truce dinner and accused of sabotaging the alliance.
He kicked her to the ground.
He ordered his men to rip off her Family insignia.
And all of it happened just after she had lost their child.
The facts crashed down on him, one after another, suffocating him.
For the first time in his life, Dante felt as if he couldn’t breathe.
Before dawn, he went to the club where the Five Families Committee kept its identity records.
The moment the doors opened, he walked straight in.
“Withdraw Elena’s exit papers.”
The old man in charge of the records office checked the seal on the file, his expression growing cautious.
“Don De Luca, this document has been signed by both parties. Elena Marino returned the signet ring and relinquished all claim to Family assets. Last night, her departure was witnessed and sanctioned by the head of another qualified Family.”
“I’m ordering you to withdraw it.”
The old man shook his head.
“She invoked the non-unilateral revocation clause. The committee has already confirmed it. You can come here a hundred times. The answer will not change.”
