He Locked Me Out Now He’s Begging Me Back Chapter 52
The fourth was the screenshot of Daniel and Tessa’s text exchange.
“Better to ask for forgiveness than permission. She’d never really throw out a single mom.”
The fifth was the final settlement page from the sale of the house.
The caption had only four sentences:
“Tessa was never a property owner of this house.”
“Before she moved in, she and Daniel had already agreed to have her occupy the main house long-term while telling me it would only be for six weeks.”
“The house sale was signed by both legal owners, and the proceeds were distributed by agreement.”
“Any further matters will be handled by counsel.”
After posting it, I closed the page and went back to reviewing the launch checklist.
Two hours later, Marisol put her phone in front of me.
The same neighbor who had told me at the barbecue that “family issues should be discussed privately” had commented under my post.
“I was there that night. Tessa told us Claire had agreed to let her stay long-term, but she never said Claire was living in the backyard or that Claire’s access to the house had been revoked. I owe Claire an apology for the judgment I made that evening.”
Another neighbor recognized the lock screenshot.
“Daniel did publicly say that night that the house was Tessa’s home. He never told anyone that Claire was the co-owner who had paid for most of it.”
The tone of the comments started to shift.
People asked Tessa why, if the stay had only been temporary, Noah had already been enrolled for a full school year.
People asked Daniel why he had made his wife a guest.
And people asked exactly who had decided it was “better to ask forgiveness than permission.”
Tessa did not answer.
Ten minutes later, she deleted the second post, too.
But this time, deletion changed nothing.
She had led everyone straight to the evidence she most wanted hidden.
