He Moved His Lover In I Moved My Money Out Chapter 13

After that dinner, the first price Graham paid wasn’t the divorce.

His father called a family meeting that very night and had him removed from the trust committee. The audit report also triggered an SEC investigation.

He didn’t seem to reflect on any of it. He just turned all his anger on Claire, revoking the lease and cutting off all financial support to her and Owen.

Claire came to my studio once.

She stood downstairs, crying that she had nowhere to go and begging me to explain things to Graham for her. Security called up to ask if I wanted her let in. I said only, “That person is never to be allowed in this building again.”

As for Graham, he was like a man hollowed out.

Every morning, he parked across the street from my studio. He never got out of the car, never came any closer. He just watched me through the window as I came and went.

Then my lawyer started receiving documents from him.

The Beacon Hill house, shares in the family foundation, several staggering assets—he wanted them all transferred to my name, for nothing.

He still thought money could fix everything.

I told my lawyer to send them back untouched, with only a sticky note clipped to the top.

Don’t poison my mailbox again.

After that, his car never reappeared.

I moved out of my old studio, changed my address, and severed the last thread connecting me to the Whitmore circle.

A few days later, a mutual friend sent me a message.

Graham abused his medication and drank too much. He was taken to the ER last night. Before he lost consciousness, he kept calling your name.

Then another.

I’m begging you. Please, come see him.

I read both messages, then deleted them and the contact.

Graham’s suffering, his regret, even his self-destruction—those were all the consequences of his own choices.

They had nothing to do with me.
