He Priced Me At A Penny So I Married Another Chapter 13

Derek pushed at Tori’s shoulder, driving her into the hallway.

“I told you to stay in the guest room so you could wait with me for Lydia to come back. Why are you bringing this up now?”

Tori hit the wall, and the wounded look finally dropped from her face.

“That’s not what you were saying yesterday. You said her mother was gone, so where else did she have to go besides your house? You also said the Hale family would never take on this kind of trouble.”

One corner of the quilt slipped from my arms.

Derek reached to catch it. I hugged it tighter first.

He stood in front of me, his throat working several times.

“I was upset. I said things I shouldn’t have. Lydia, don’t let her drive us apart.”

Tori let out a cold laugh in the hallway.

“Now you’re here pretending to be the good guy. But who gave me that poster? She didn’t like how much time you spent with me, so she used the wedding date to pressure you. You told me to teach her a lesson.”

“I said one cent was too much. You were the one who told me to add in how she took care of your mother. Now she’s gone, and suddenly it’s all my fault?”

Derek spun around and shouted at her.

“I told you to make a joke of it. Who told you to cut her quilt?”
