He Signed My Freedom Now He Wants Me Back Chapter 35
“I had no idea this is how you treated the children behind my back.”
Vivian tried to explain.
Lucian didn’t listen.
He ordered the guards to revoke her access to both the pack manor and the medical wing and demanded that she leave the Highridge manor that same day.
But Noah didn’t feel safe.
He clutched his father’s sleeve and kept repeating that he would behave, begging them not to throw him away.
Lucian knelt at the bedside and finally realized this was not a single outburst.
It was months of fear.
The guards searched the children’s rooms afterward. Under Iris’s mattress, they found several pieces of hardened bread. Noah’s cabinet was stuffed with unsent notes begging for help. They hadn’t dared contact their father through mindlink because Vivian had told them Lucian was preparing for a new family and hated being bothered by pups over small things.
Before his fever, Noah had asked three separate times for a Healer examination, and each time Vivian had refused in the tone of a Luna proxy. She had also ordered the staff to delete the call records and lied that the heir was faking an illness to avoid training.
After reading the report, Lucian asked the guards why no one had gone directly to him.
The guard on duty answered, “Because it was the Alpha who allowed her to sit in the Luna’s place, and the Alpha who required everyone to obey her household orders.”
That sentence silenced the entire room.
Vivian was cruel, yes. But her control over the children wasn’t built on deception alone. Lucian had personally granted her authority, then chosen not to see it every time something was wrong.
That same night, Iris asked, “Dad, I miss Mom. When is she coming back?”
Lucian had no answer.
