He Sold Me Into Slavery I Returned As Queen Chapter 18

Lucian turned to Rosalie next.

She sat on the floor, crying so hard she could barely breathe.

“Rosalie Raine, you were not the mastermind, but you knowingly concealed a crime, destroyed evidence, and continued to occupy a bloodline seat that was not yours.”

“Your betrothal to Cedric is hereby void.”

Rosalie jerked her head toward Alaric.

“Father!”

Alaric closed his eyes and did not answer.

Lucian said, “Revoke her status as heir. Her knowing destruction of evidence will be judged by the Court of Judgment.”

Rosalie’s body went limp.

“No. Father, you can’t cast me aside.”

“I’m your daughter, too.”

At last, Alaric opened his eyes.

He looked at her, his voice so aged it was almost unrecognizable.

“You knew Ella might still be alive.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

Rosalie reached out, clutching at the hem of his clothes.

“I was afraid.”

“I was afraid that if she came back, you wouldn’t need me anymore.”

Alaric raised a hand as if he wanted to touch her.

In the end, it fell back to his side.
