He Was Reborn To Claim Me But I’m Already Married Chapter 28

By the time Adrian’s trial began, I was seven months pregnant.

Daniel had wanted me to stay home.

But I went anyway.

Not for Adrian.

But because I refused to let someone else tell my story for me.

The assistant had already pleaded guilty.

In exchange for a lighter sentence, he laid out the entire plan from the wedding day.

Daniel also testified about discovering the empty room, recognizing the assistant at the back door, and calling the police to give chase.

Several state troopers involved in the pursuit and rescue testified one after another.

The vehicle, the spike strips, the marks near the cliff, and the metal hairpin I had used to defend myself all became undeniable facts.

The Hawthorne lawyers tried to argue that Adrian had been mentally unstable at the time.

But Adrian refused to cooperate.

He insisted that he remembered our previous life.

He said I had once been his wife.

He said I had loved him for many years.

Whispers rippled through the courtroom.

His lawyer was sweating, reminding him again and again to stop talking.

But Adrian seemed to think this was his last chance. He kept his eyes fixed on the jury box.

“She only refuses to admit she still loves me because of her resentment from our last life.”

“I took her away because I wanted to clear up the misunderstanding.”

The prosecutor asked, “So even after Ms. Bennett explicitly refused you, you still believed you had the right to make decisions for her?”
