His Fake Proposal Led Me To My Real Husband Chapter 31
That argument spread quickly.
I wasn’t the one who released it.
Tyler posted the full recording on his own account.
Patricia’s voice was so sharp it was nearly distorted.
“If you had just gotten together with Caroline in the first place, none of this would have happened!”
Mason said, “The fake proposal was my idea. It has nothing to do with Rebecca.”
“If she hadn’t posted the recording, who would have known?”
“Tyler posted the video first.”
Tyler gave a cold laugh in the background.
“Blaming me again?”
Patricia snapped, “Not a single one of your friends is any good.”
“Mrs. Westbrook,” Tyler said.
“The first thing you did when you walked into that ballroom was insult Rebecca. How are you any different from us?”
The room went silent for a beat.
Then came the sound of a glass shattering.
The recording ended there.
Mason used to say his friends only joked with me because they saw me as one of them.
Now that they no longer had me as their shared target, all that was left of their so-called friendship was mutual blame.
Tyler’s lawyer contacted me quickly.
He was willing to delete everything, issue a public apology, and compensate my mother and me for the emotional distress.
On one condition: I would stop pursuing legal action for his edited video and fabricated claims.
My lawyer asked, “Do you accept?”
“The correction stays pinned to his profile for one year.”
“He may not agree to that.”
“Then we continue.”
That afternoon, Tyler agreed.Â
