I Gave The Prince To My Sister And Found My True Mate Chapter 25
I listened to the stories and treated them as if they were about someone else.
None of it had anything to do with me anymore.
I had my own road to walk now.
Rosalie later married an ordinary, wealthy businessman from the south.
It was not a happy marriage. Without the Crown’s protection and without the status of an Alpha’s heir for a husband, she finally learned that not everyone would place the best things in the world before her the way our parents always had.
Years later, my father and mother gradually grew old.
From time to time, they wrote to Northwatch, their letters full of regret that had come too late.
“Audrey, we were the ones who hurt you.”
“If you’re willing, Cedar Valley will always welcome you home.”
I folded the letters and put them away in a drawer without replying.
I no longer hated them.
And I no longer needed their apologies.
Everything from my last life felt like a nightmare that had gone on far too long.
Now, at last, I had woken up.
I stayed in Northwatch, by Caleb’s side.
I trained as a healer at the border hospital, treating wounded soldiers and helping children rescued from the rogue zone who had temporarily lost the protection of a Pack.
Behind the commander’s residence, Caleb built me a small greenhouse with a glass roof.
When I wasn’t on duty, I grew flowers there, brewed coffee, and watched snow blanket the pine forest in the distance.
Every time a patrol ended, Caleb’s vehicle would pull up outside, right on time.
He would walk in, carrying the chill of the north on him, search for me first, and then hold out his hand.
And I knew that this time, at last, I truly had a home of my own.
