I Let Her Ruin Herself Chapter 18
When the obsessed fan who killed me in my last life showed up in the underground garage, I wasn’t surprised.
Taylor had always been good at convincing men that hurting someone else was the only way to save her.
I couldn’t remember the man’s name, only that he had been the most fanatical of her followers.
This time, security had a record of Taylor’s threats, and plainclothes bodyguards were following me at a distance.
I hadn’t wanted to go after her, but the reborn Taylor had become too dangerous to ignore.
That day, the man was hiding behind the same concrete pillar.
He pressed a knife to my waist. Taylor stepped out from behind another car.
She lifted her chin, a triumphant smile on her face.
“You didn’t see this coming, did you?”
“I can have you killed once, and I can have you killed a second time. You rejected me. Now, transfer enough money for me to leave the country and live comfortably for the rest of my life, and arrange for a plane.”
I didn’t resist. I let the garage cameras capture every word.
When the man shifted his weight, I used years of self-defense training to wrench the knife from his grasp and pin him to the ground.
Taylor turned and ran.
My bodyguards cut her off at the exit and called the police. Both of them were arrested right there in the garage.
The surveillance audio, the weapon, their text messages, and the bodyguards’ statements made the evidence airtight.
Taylor was charged with solicitation of a violent crime, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and extortion. She eventually accepted a plea deal with a minimum sentence of eight years.
The man pleaded guilty to attempted murder and armed assault, with a minimum sentence of six years.
Later, I learned that because he and Derek had similar security classifications, they ended up in the same state prison.
Two men who both claimed to love Taylor finally got their chance to meet.
