I Let Her Ruin Herself Chapter 31
The man had aged, but his eyes held the same fixation I remembered.
He had worked temp jobs nearby for two years, just waiting for her.
“Tay, I knew you’d come back.”
He grabbed her hand excitedly.
Taylor yanked it away.
“Have you been stalking me?”
“I’ve been waiting for you.”
The man pulled a crumpled photo from his jacket. It was a promo picture taken when Taylor had been working at that small agency.
“I did six years for you. You said that once I got out, you’d be with me.”
Taylor stepped back, not even bothering to hide the disgust on her face.
When she needed him, she told him he was the only one in the world who understood her.
Now that he was useless, she didn’t even want to look at him.
“The knife was in your hand,” she said. “Going to prison was your problem.”
The anticipation vanished from the man’s face.
“You said Adrian ruined you. You told me to kill him.”
“I didn’t tell you to fail.”
They started screaming at each other at the entrance to the neighborhood.
Neither of them would admit they had walked into that garage by choice.
