I Married The Disabled Billionaire Then My Family Begged Me To Come Back Chapter 10

No Longer Alone

One month later, Adrian’s legs are fully healed.

They’re even stronger than before.

Under his brutal cleanup, Sterling Group gets rid of every last person Julian left behind.

Its market value doubles.

Late at night, I stand in the master bedroom of the Sterling estate.

I just took a shower.

I’m wearing a black silk nightdress, drying my wet hair with a towel as I look out the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Beyond the glass, Manhattan glitters under the night sky.

Then a pair of strong arms wraps around my waist from behind.

Adrian just showered too.

He smells clean and sharp, like body wash and expensive cold air.

He rests his chin against the top of my head.

His warm breath brushes over me through the thin silk, making my skin shiver.

He takes the towel from my hand.

Then he starts drying my hair for me.

Gentle.

But somehow still impossible to refuse.

“What are you looking at?” he asks.

His voice is low, with that dangerous pull he never bothers to hide around me anymore.

“The view.”

I relax back against his chest and laugh softly.

“The Hales are done.”

“Silas is in jail.”

“Stella got what she deserved.”

“I don’t know. Being unbeatable is kind of lonely.”

Adrian lets out a low laugh.

The sound vibrates through his chest and into my back.

It feels warm.

A little dangerous.

He tosses the towel aside.

Then he turns me around to face him.

His dark eyes burn in the low light.

Possessive.

Deep.

And far too intense.

“Miss Hale,” he says slowly, “all the outside enemies are gone.”

“Maybe now we should talk about the problem inside this house.”

I raise an eyebrow and slide my arms around his neck.

“What problem?”

“Sterling Group is half yours, half mine.”

“We work great together.”

“Work great together?”

His hand slides down my back and stops at my waist.

His thumb moves slowly over the silk.

“Claire, did you forget something?”

“We’re not just partners.”

“We have another legal relationship.”

He lowers his head until his nose almost touches mine.

His breath is hot.

“You healed my legs.”

“You helped me take back Sterling Group.”

“In return, I sent your enemies to hell.”

“The contract is complete.”

“So maybe it’s time to turn this contract marriage into a real one.”

I look into the fire in his eyes.

I don’t back away.

Instead, I rise on my toes and lean close to his ear.

My voice drops low enough for only him to hear.

“Fine.”

“Since your legs work perfectly now…”

“Show me what the crown prince of Manhattan’s elite can really do.”

Something dark and wild flashes in Adrian’s eyes.

The next second, he lowers his head and takes my mouth.

Hard.

Demanding.

Like he wants to swallow every breath and sound I have.

I rise into him and kiss him back.

Outside the window, the city lights glow soft and bright.

Adrian Sterling and I meet each other at the top.

The road ahead is long.

But this time, I’m not walking it alone.

The End
