I Signed Away Eight Million To Leave Him Chapter 17

The restraining order quickly became Palm Beach’s newest scandal.

Sloane didn’t cancel the wedding.

She continued to appear beside Graham at dinners, telling the cameras, “He just hasn’t handled his past very well. I’m willing to give him time.”

Then she turned around and had her lawyer send him an even stricter prenup.

If Graham cheated after they were married, harassed an ex, or damaged her reputation in any way, she would get the marital home and a substantial settlement.

Graham signed it.

The venue, the guest list, even the color of his tie—Sloane decided everything.

He seemed not to care in the slightest.

Unable to contact me, he began posting photos of beaches, old swings, and vague, romantic lines on his social media.

“Some people leave only because they’re waiting for you to come after them.”

“People who truly love each other always find their way back.”

In front of his friends, he played the part of the devoted, heartbroken lover.

“I’m only marrying Sloane for the family. Mara is the only woman I’ve ever loved.”

At the time, I was busy choosing a park for a weekend date with Eli and never saw any of it.

The night before the wedding, Graham held a drink and told his groomsmen that the restraining order was just a tactic to force him to call off the wedding.

“She’s angry I didn’t choose her.”

He had even planned out the grand finale.

Halfway through the ceremony, I would burst into the chapel in a white dress. He would abandon Sloane at the altar, walk straight to me, and kiss me in front of everyone.

The groomsmen stared at him in stunned silence.

But Graham only looked toward the chapel doors with absolute certainty.

“She’ll come.”

“She loves me too much not to come and take her groom back.”
