I Signed Away Eight Million To Leave Him Chapter 20
She was going to come.
She had endured three years of humiliation without leaving. There was no way she could really give him up.
Halfway through the reception, Graham slipped away from Sloane and stepped out onto the terrace alone.
He took out his phone. No missed calls. No new messages.
I hadn’t even sent a single line of congratulations.
He frowned, opened his browser, and reflexively typed in *Mara Ellis*.
News stories, social media accounts, old charity gala photos all popped up.
He was about to close the search when an update lower on the page caught his eye. It was from the Pinellas County public records website.
Graham clicked on it without thinking.
The next second, the smile froze on his face.
In the center of the page, the text was stark and clear:
**Marriage Status: Married.**
**Spouse: Eli Torres.**
**Registration Date: Two Days Ago.**
He stared at the words, his finger hovering over the screen.
Impossible.
It had to be someone with the same name.
Mara would never marry someone else. She had moved to St. Petersburg only to sulk, to punish him. She had returned the ring and given up the trust only to force him to cave first.
He had even thought that if she crashed the wedding tonight, he could forgive her for more than a year of this childish rebellion.Â
