Kill Him Nine Times Chapter 21
I ignored it.
Carrying the gas can, I climbed up the exterior pipes to the third floor.
I could climb because this body had spent her childhood outdoors.
Climbing trees, wading in rivers, running through the woods—those skills were finally proving useful.
I made it onto the third-floor balcony without a problem.
The lock clicked a few times and opened.
I made my way downstairs to the first floor, quiet as a shadow.
Matteo was still on the phone, his voice so loud the whole house could hear it.
“What’s the point of keeping you all around if you can’t even find one person—”
He stopped mid-sentence.
As if he had suddenly sensed someone behind him.
Matteo slowly turned around.
I stood there and smiled.
“This time, you didn’t accept my confession.”
I unscrewed the gas can and splashed its contents all over him.
Matteo’s scream echoed through the house.
He must have sent all his bodyguards out to find me.
Or maybe he really thought that hiding in this house made him completely safe.
Either way, there was almost no one left inside.
In that moment, I felt like a lunatic, trying to force someone to stay by my side.
Matteo.
You can’t run this time.
Whether you want to or not doesn’t matter anymore.
Only the result matters.
The next second, I flicked open the Zippo in my hand.
The flames leaped up instantly.
His screams were swallowed by the fire.
If you won’t love me, then die.
