Make Them Regret It Chapter 11

No one in the room could answer me.

My father sank to his knees.

My older brother and second brother dropped to the floor beside him.

Colton knelt closest to me, right in front of the coffin, but he didn’t dare lift his head.

“Blythe,” my older brother said, his voice raw, “we thought… we really thought it was just one night.”

“We sent blankets, a generator, people to watch over you. We honestly believed everything would be fine in the morning.”

I looked at him.

“Brother, before Gia died, she kept asking when you were coming for her.”

“She said, ‘Wake me up when Daddy comes.’”

“I tried. She didn’t wake up.”

My older brother collapsed completely, his shoulders shaking with silent, wracking sobs.

Just then, the family’s legal adviser arrived.

Behind him, under guard, were the three hired men and Isabella’s personal maid.

The maid’s legs gave out the moment she entered the room. She fell to her knees and confessed everything in a torrent of words.

“The thermal blankets and the generator—Miss Isabella told me to stop them. She said only if they felt the cold would they understand pain.”

“She hired those three men, too. She gave them the acid.”

“And… the script for the fake agents.”
