My Best Friend My Husband And My Divorce Chapter 05

My vision became increasingly blurry, and I fainted as everything went black.

Caleb panicked and caught my body, his eyes full of anxiety as he called my name.

Seeing I was unresponsive, he immediately picked me up and rushed outside, flooring the gas pedal of his Porsche.

He ran countless red lights along the way.

He burst into the emergency room at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

Caleb’s mind went completely blank as he frantically shouted at the triage nurse.

When I was wheeled into the operating room, Caleb tried to follow like a madman.

Security guards ultimately had to restrain him outside.

Caleb stared at his hands covered in blood, unprecedented panic surging in his heart.

He crouched in the hallway, desperately clutching his hair.

He couldn’t understand how it had come to this.

It wasn’t until the attending physician came out with a medical consent form to inform him:

“The patient was two months pregnant. Due to blunt force trauma to the abdomen causing massive bleeding, the fetus couldn’t be saved.”

“We need to perform a D&C procedure. Please sign here, family member.”

Caleb’s mind exploded with a thunderous crash, and he tremblingly took the pen.

He suddenly remembered how much I had longed for this child’s arrival.

Over the years, because we hadn’t been able to conceive, we had visited countless top fertility clinics across the country.

To prepare for pregnancy, I endured medication side effects and received injection after injection of hormone treatments for ovulation induction.
