My Broke Husband Bought His Mistress A Mansion Chapter 01

For years, my six-year-old son and I lived in a cramped basement apartment and delivered pizzas in 95-degree heat, trying to pay off the millions my husband said he owed after his startup failed.

Then one day, I delivered an order to a luxury mansion—and found my husband inside in a designer suit, holding a pregnant woman in his arms.

The mansion was his gift to her.

……

I was delivering pizza in 95-degree heat when I saw my husband, Ethan, inside a newly built mansion.

That morning, he’d left home in a faded T-shirt, saying he was heading out to drive Uber.

Now he was wearing an expensive suit with a luxury watch on his wrist.

I’d heard the mansion was a gift from some wealthy man to his pregnant wife.

It never crossed my mind that the man was my husband.

Ethan froze when he saw me. “Claire…”

A pregnant woman I’d never seen before turned to look at me.

Beside her stood a little girl, maybe five years old.

She had Ethan’s eyes.

I stared at him, tears already falling.

“So you’ve been pretending to be broke this whole time?”

Ethan went white.

He stepped outside fast, trying to steer me away from the door.

“Claire, go home. I’ll explain everything tonight.”

He planted himself in front of me, blocking my view of the woman and child behind him.

I shoved him out of the way.

“Explain what?”

My voice cracked.

“Why you had a kid with another woman while Noah and I lived like idiots, believing every word out of your mouth?”

“Why you let us struggle for years when you had all of this?”

I looked at the man I’d loved for years, and the pain in my chest was so sharp I could barely breathe.

All this time, I’d believed we were drowning in debt.

Noah and I had been living in a cramped basement apartment, counting every dollar.

I picked up every shift I could and delivered pizzas by bike after hours just to keep us afloat.

Noah never once asked for expensive toys or new clothes.

“Mom!” Noah’s voice came from behind me.

My six-year-old was running toward us.

“You were taking forever! We still have more deliveries!”

Then he spotted Ethan and stopped. “Dad?”

He immediately held up the bottle of Coke in his hands.

“Look! I saved this for you!”

My eyes burned.

A customer had given us the Coke earlier while Noah was riding along with me on deliveries.

He’d let me have one sip because I was overheating, but he hadn’t touched a drop himself.

“Dad works hard too,” he’d told me. “We should save him some.”

Ethan just stood there, guilt flashing across his face.

Noah’s clothes were faded, and he was small for his age.

The little girl inside the mansion was dressed head to toe in designer clothes, her shoes looking brand-new.

The contrast made something twist in my chest.

Ethan reached for Noah.

“Come here, buddy.”

But Noah sensed something was off and ducked behind me.

I wiped my face, took his hand, and walked toward my bike.

“Let’s go.”

I canceled the rest of my deliveries and rode home, Noah on the seat behind me, his thin arms wrapped around my waist.

“Mom, aren’t we delivering pizzas anymore?”

I swallowed hard.

“Not today. It’s too hot.”

He nodded quietly and didn’t ask anything else.
