Dragging up my past the same week I got nominated — that wasn’t a coincidence.
Somebody paid for it.
Moretti Pictures’ legal team moves fast.
Inside seventy-two hours they’ve traced the payments back through three shell accounts to their source.
Annabella Conti.
And a friend of hers — a girl who’d been on the shortlist for Best Newcomer until my name knocked hers off it.
The cease-and-desists hit their inboxes that afternoon.
Annabella calls Dante, begging.
“Dante — for old times’ sake, can you please pull it back?”
Dante only lets out a cold laugh into the phone.
“Annabella. When you were doing this to her — did you pull it back for old times’ sake?”
He hangs up and blocks her number.
Then he downloads Instagram, registers an account and gets it verified in an hour — the Moretti name still moves that fast.
His first post: “Meet my girlfriend, Lena Rose. Also the girl I’ve been in love with for years — Isabella Marino.”
The PR team keeps digging.
The pool house “peeping” incident was a setup. Employees on the Moretti Manor ran the whole thing.
A former friend of mine, still working in the Manor, goes on record: “Yes, Isabella Marino was on medication after her father’s death.”
“Yes, she had to take time off.”
“Yes, the girl was one of the sharpest girls I ever worked with.”
Then — Ryan Cole posts on Instagram, tags me:
“Worked with Lena on set. Lena Rose or Isabella Marino — same girl. Sharpest, hardest-working newcomer I’ve seen in years. Lucky to have her in this industry.”
The tide turns overnight.
“Lena survived actual bullying and you people are still coming at her??”
“Girl gained weight from grief meds and got mocked for it — where’s your soul?”
“So glad she’s thriving now. Give us ten more roles. Make every hater choke.”
So this is what it feels like to be believed and to have someone standing next to you.
That afternoon, I open Instagram and post for the first time in months.
“Hi. I’m Lena Rose, also Isabella Marino. Nice to meet you.”
