My Broke Husband Bought His Mistress A Mansion Chapter 09
People filled the comments with congratulations and wishes for Noah and me.
One comment stood out.
The account had no profile picture and a random username.
【Live well. I’ll always love you both.】
A few minutes later, the account disappeared.
Over the next two months, Noah started regular treatment.
His asthma improved quickly.
Ethan came to some of his follow-up appointments.
He rarely approached me and usually only brought Noah a new toy or talked to him for a few minutes.
Vanessa didn’t disappear as quietly.
She contacted me more than once, furious about the divorce settlement and the mansion.
“I gave Ethan a daughter. I spent years with him.”
“Why should you and Noah get everything?”
I looked at her coldly.
She had known Ethan was married and still helped him build a second family while Noah and I struggled.
Now she wanted to complain that the consequences were unfair.
I had nothing to say to her.
Eventually, she stopped contacting me.
Whatever happened between her, Ethan, and Lily after that was no longer my problem.
A few months later, Noah and I moved to a warmer city we’d always liked.
On the way to the airport, we passed the pizza place where I’d picked up the delivery that led me to the mansion.
That order had cracked Ethan’s lie wide open.
For once, I was grateful for it.
Ethan was waiting for us at the airport.
He looked thinner and exhausted.
“Take care of yourselves,” he said.
I nodded.
Noah walked over and hugged him.
“Take care of yourself too, Dad.”
Then he came back to me.
We walked through security without looking back.
On the plane, Noah pressed his face to the window as we climbed above the clouds.
“Mom, can we go to the beach when we get there?”
I smiled.
“Of course.”
For the first time in years, nothing was waiting for us except a new life.
