My Cruel Husband Let Me Die So I Married His Brother Chapter 14
Later, Dante found an opportunity to have one of Griffin’s legs broken and sent him to the hospital.
The next time I saw him, he was much thinner and looked years older.
“It’s been a month.”
He lay in the hospital bed, his voice hoarse.
“You haven’t come to see me once. Daphne, do you really not love me anymore? After all our years together…”
“I’m pregnant.”
All the blood drained from Griffin’s face.
Only then did he truly understand.
I was never going back.
Later, Griffin set fire to the Moonlight penthouse and stayed inside.
He had someone deliver a long letter of apology to me.
I didn’t have the patience to read it. I threw it straight in the trash.
Somehow, Dante found it.
He was so furious he had Griffin’s ashes scattered into the Hudson River.
“He’s dead, and he still wants my wife to remember him?”
“In his dreams.”
He wrapped his arms around me, rubbing his cheek against mine.
“Wife, who do you love most?”
I smiled at him.
“You.”
“Always you.”
