My Family Regret When They Lose Me Chapter 06
Marco knew he had gone too far this time.
At first, he had planned to explain everything.
That night, he had been drinking, and Sofia had kept pressing herself against him. In a moment of weakness, he lost control.
He had thought I would never find out.
He never imagined the timing would be so disastrous.
Even after I’d caught them, some part of him still clung to wishful thinking.
He had always believed that I loved this family too much, loved him and Chloe too much, to ever really leave.
He’d always taken my love for our family for granted, a safety net he could always count on.
He had even assumed that, at worst, I’d be angry for a few days, and then I’d come back.
But now, the empty half of the closet was a slap in the face.
Chloe came running over barefoot and wrapped herself around his leg.
“Daddy, is the bad woman really never coming back?”
“I… I just didn’t want her to be my mommy anymore. But I didn’t want her to leave.”
“Daddy, call her and tell her to come back, okay?”
Marco looked at her, a sudden thought occurring to him.
He crouched down and held her by the shoulders.
“Where’s your watch? The one you can call from. You try her.”
