My Family Stole My Run I Returned A Leader Chapter 23

The project director did not let me respond in person.

Ten minutes later, the ethics committee issued a short statement.

It contained only the application time, the recusal time, and the evaluation schedule.

Bella had submitted her application after midnight.

The moment I received the email, I had declared the family relationship and requested recusal.

Another treatment team had taken over before she ever arrived. She had never been denied entry into the program.

Every timestamp was recorded in the system.

The sobbing on the livestream hadn’t even stopped before the comments began to turn.

Someone dug up that “Perfect family full moon trip” post from three years ago.

On the public roster, Bella and Stefan’s names were listed side by side under the Lombardi family.

Mine wasn’t there.

Aunt Lisa’s comment from back then, and my mother’s reply, were still there.

“Bringing her would only cause trouble.”

That sentence was screenshotted and pasted into the livestream’s comments.

When Bella saw it, her face went white.

“That’s not what you think.”

“Paloma didn’t want to go back then.”

My mother, fresh out of the hearing room, pushed her way into the camera frame.
