My Fiancé Postponed Our Wedding So I Married The Don He Feared Chapter 07

Damian’s harassment didn’t fade with time.

If anything, he grew more unhinged.

He seemed trapped in an obsession, convinced that if he performed enough devotion, I would come back.

That day, I had just left the office when I was stopped cold by leaflets raining from the sky.

They were printed with old photos of Damian and me together.

Below them, a line of garish text:

“Olivia Hayes drove me to jump.”

I looked up.

On the rooftop of the tallest office building downtown, a familiar figure stood at the edge, swaying.

It was Damian.

He wore all white, a megaphone in his hand, screaming hysterically at the crowd below. “Olivia! Come back! Come back to me and I won’t jump!”

“If you don’t come back, I’m jumping today!”

The megaphone’s piercing noise drew hordes of onlookers.

Fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances were already on scene. The area below had been cordoned off.

I felt a splitting headache and my stomach lurched.

This was an absurd farce, nothing more.

“Olivia, have you forgotten? Our five years!”

Damian screamed until his voice cracked.

“You said you’d love me forever! I gave you everything! Why are you doing this to me?”

He pushed all the blame onto me.

The crowd started talking.

People who didn’t know the truth began looking at me differently.

“That woman is cold-blooded.”

“Five years together, and she pushes a man to this?”

“Even if she doesn’t love him anymore, she shouldn’t provoke someone like that.”

Some even pulled out their phones and pointed cameras at me.

I felt sick. All I wanted was to get away from this tribunal of strangers.

That was when Don Gabriel’s car came roaring up.

His face was like thunder. He went straight to my side and pulled me tight against him.

“Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”

His voice was low, but it carried absolute strength.

“Gabriel! This is all your fault!”

Damian spotted him and lost control entirely.

“You stole Olivia from me! Give her back! Or I’ll die right here in front of you!”

Gabriel didn’t acknowledge him.

He simply glanced up at the rooftop, then said a few quiet words to his assistant.

The assistant understood immediately and picked up a radio to coordinate with fire and police. Several of DeLuca’s men also fanned out through the crowd, blocking the cameras aimed at me.

Minutes later, a team of firefighters and negotiators slipped onto the roof.

“Damian Moretti, come down first. We can talk about everything calmly.”

The negotiator tried to soothe him.

“No! I only want Olivia! She doesn’t come back, I jump!”

I finally collected myself.

I pulled free from Gabriel’s arms, looked up at the rooftop, and shouted, “Damian, then jump.”

The crowd went silent.

I spoke clearly, every word distinct.

“You think this will make me come back? Let me tell you. It won’t.”

“I will never love you again in this life, and I will never take responsibility for a coward like you.”

My words cut like frozen blades, driving straight into Damian.

Shock flashed across his face, quickly consumed by something wilder: hatred.

“You… you’re really that heartless?”

His body shook. Then, without warning, he lunged forward.

The next instant, his body disappeared over the edge of the rooftop.

Screams erupted from the crowd below.
