My Fiancé Postponed Our Wedding So I Married The Don He Feared Chapter 06

News of my marriage to Gabriel spread quickly through our shared social circles and into the underworld.

Some were shocked. Some offered blessings. Others began to speculate with malice.

Bianca, the architect of it all, naturally wasn’t about to let this go.

Watching Damian in utter anguish, devastated beyond repair, she felt a twisted sense of satisfaction.

She couldn’t accept that I’d broken free from Damian. Even less could she accept that I’d married Gabriel and would now have a better life.

She wanted to destroy my reputation. Make Gabriel look down on me.

Over the next few days, vicious rumors about me began circulating online and in group chats within their circles.

“I heard Olivia was already hooking up with Don DeLuca. Being with Don Moretti was just a cover.”

“Five years of love? Please. She saw the Moretti family losing power and jumped to a stronger man.”

“She used to have shady relationships with multiple men. A family like the DeLucas, why would they marry her?”

The words were filthy and precise, aimed straight at my virtue and character.

Bianca even fabricated suggestive photos.

The images were crude, but with the right people spreading them, they were enough to muddy the waters.

At first, I didn’t care.

But Gabriel would not tolerate it.

“This kind of garbage won’t exist for more than an hour.”

When he said it, his eyes were cold enough to freeze.

He had his people handle the rumors immediately.

Posts deleted. Accounts banned. Sources traced.

Everyone who participated in spreading them received a lawyer’s letter at minimum, or a direct lawsuit at worst. As for those circulating lies within underworld circles, they received warnings from the DeLuca family soon enough.

I told him, “There’s no need to get angry over people like that. They’re not worth it.”

But he held my hand tight, his voice firm.

“Anyone who hurts you, I won’t let a single one of them go.”

His decisiveness and protectiveness gave me a sense of security I’d never known before.

But even more maddening than Bianca’s rumors was Damian’s relentless pursuit.

He seemed completely unable to accept that I was now Gabriel’s wife.

Every day, his calls and texts came like a bombardment.

“Olivia, I’m begging you, can’t we give each other one more chance? I really can’t live without you.”

“We were together five years. How can you just change like that? Do you really not love me at all anymore?”

“I know I was wrong. I’ll never listen to Bianca again. From now on, I’ll do whatever you say. Okay?”

He even showed up outside Gabriel’s corporate building, begging just to see me.

It was the DeLuca family’s most important legitimate company, Gabriel’s public-facing enterprise. Damian, a Don in his own right, had reduced himself to a haggard, unshaven wreck, looking like a man the world had thrown away.

When Gabriel found out, he simply told his assistant, “From now on, nothing and no one connected to Damian Moretti comes within a hundred meters of this building.”

“If it happens again, call the police.”
