My Fiancé Sent Me To Another Man On Our Wedding Day Chapter 14
Conrad Hawthorne stepped out of the airport terminal.
I immediately pulled free from Rafael and hurried to Conrad’s side.
Conrad drew me into a protective embrace and looked down at me.
“Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” I shook my head.
Rafael stared at Conrad, a look of dawning horror on his face.
“It was you.”
His gaze dropped to Conrad’s wrist, and his voice trembled.
“So that bracelet… Helena really did make it for you.”
“The wife you mentioned… it was her.”
Then he looked at me, his whole body rigid.
“Helena, you didn’t marry the old man.”
“You married him?”
“Yes.” I slipped my arm through Conrad’s. “This is my husband, Conrad Hawthorne. Old Mr. Hawthorne is his grandfather.”
I looked at Rafael and spoke every word with precision.
“The Hawthorne elders wanted a wedding in the family to make the old gentleman happy while he was ill. They never said the groom had to be him.”
“Conrad is a wonderful man. He treats me very well.”
