My Guardian Married My Sister But I’m His Alpha Chapter 14

“When did I agree to consider it?”

“You nodded just now.” Francesca’s expression was the picture of innocence. “Mom and several of the elders saw it, didn’t you?”

Their mother hesitated for a second, then nodded quickly.

“Yes. I saw it, too. You nodded.”

One of the Nightfall elders avoided Chiara’s gaze and gave a slight, assenting nod.

Watching them, Chiara felt a wave of nausea.

Francesca had always been a master at this—inventing a reality that had never happened, then stating it with such conviction that it became fact.

She didn’t think Tucker was a good match for Chiara.

She just wanted Chiara married off and shipped out to another Pack as quickly as possible.

If Chiara left Nightfall, she would no longer be a threat to Francesca’s position as Luna.

The wind stung Chiara’s eyes, but she refused to cry.

“I did not nod. And I did not accept any courtship.”

Francesca’s eyes immediately filled with tears, and she clutched at Griffin’s sleeve.

“Griffin…”

Griffin looked at Chiara, then glanced at Francesca.

And he said nothing.

Those few seconds of silence were colder than the air in the chapel.

Even now, he wouldn’t expose Francesca’s lie in front of the elders.

Tucker, however, smiled.

“Excellent. Since Chiara has agreed to consider it, then this courtship intent can be—”

“Can be what?”

A new voice cut through the air, coming from the chapel entrance.

It wasn’t loud, but it was cold as steel.

Every head turned.

Sterling Vale walked through the doorway, dressed in a black overcoat and carrying a bouquet of white lilies.

Only Ironwood’s Beta and a single Guardian followed him.

It wasn’t an extravagant display, but it was enough to represent an entire Pack.

Griffin’s expression hardened instantly.

Even her grandfather’s grip on his cane tightened.

Sterling walked with measured steps. The sheer power of his Alpha presence made the Riverbend party instinctively move aside.

He went first to the memorial photograph, bowed his head, and laid down the flowers in a quiet show of respect for Nightfall’s late Alpha.

Then, in full view of everyone, he walked to Chiara’s side.

He didn’t touch her. He simply looked at her, a silent question in his eyes.

Chiara gave the faintest of nods.

Only then did Sterling take his place at her left.

“You were saying,” he asked Tucker, his tone as casual as if he were commenting on the weather, “what exactly you planned to settle with the woman I am formally courting?”
