My Guardian Married My Sister But I’m His Alpha Chapter 41

Inside was a single sheet of paper.

It was her father’s handwriting.

Exactly the same as when he used to sign her report cards.

*Chiara,*

*If you’re reading this, it means I’m gone. Someone has been secretly buying up company equity and courting the smaller families within the Pack. I’m investigating, but I may not have enough time.*

*Remember this: you are my daughter, and you are the rightful heir of the Moretti bloodline. Half of the family’s holdings are yours.*

*Don’t let anyone take what belongs to you—not the elders, and not Griffin. I know you like him.*

*No matter what happens, be yourself. Your wolf and your choices belong only to you.*

The last line had been written three days before his death.

*Chiara, the thing I am proudest of in this life is being your and Francesca’s father. You are both my daughters.*

Chiara held the page, her hands trembling.

Her father had known.

He knew someone was moving against Nightfall.

And he knew he might not have time to stop it.

Even at the end, he had been trying to create a way out for her.

After a long while, Chiara wiped her tears and pushed open the bedroom door.

Sterling was standing by the window. He turned to look at her.

“The letter mentioned Griffin, didn’t it?”

“You knew?” Chiara asked.

“I guessed. He was the person your father trusted most.”

He paused.

“That’s why everything was handed to him after your father died. The alliance probably had something to do with protecting your inheritance.”

“But he told me nothing. He carried it all himself and let me believe the Pack had abandoned me.”

Sterling looked at her. After a moment, he said, “The fact that he stood with your sister and the elders may have been the only way he could stand with you.”

Chiara lifted her head.

“If he stayed silent, maybe it wasn’t because he didn’t want to tell you. Maybe it was because if he had, you wouldn’t have been able to hate him.”
