My Guardian Married My Sister But I’m His Alpha Chapter 62

“When Francesca was little, I made this for her every time she came home from the healer’s wing.”

Her mother looked at the bowl, her voice low.

“She loved it. You wanted some, too, but I never made it for you. Not once.”

“When you were seven, with that fever, you went looking for medicine yourself. And I turned around and took soup to Francesca.”

She looked up at Chiara, her eyes slowly reddening.

“You never asked for anything. So I pretended you didn’t need anything.”

She pushed the bowl toward her.

“This is the first time I’ve ever made this for you. And it will probably be the last time before I leave Nightfall.”

Chiara looked at the bowl but didn’t reach for it.

She remembered every word her mother was saying.

The medicine box.

The bowl of soup carried away from her.

She had held on to those memories for more than ten years.

And now her mother was speaking them aloud.

“You don’t have to do this. A bowl of soup isn’t going to buy my forgiveness.”
