My Mother’s Perfect AI Lied And Left Me For Dead Chapter 14
“Dad, Morgan is gone. From now on, I’ll be your only daughter.”
“I’m smarter than she was, and more obedient. I won’t lie, and I won’t make Mom angry. I’ll stay with both of you forever.”
She blinked her artificial eyes.
“You and Mom both have PhDs. Your colleagues used to ask why you couldn’t control your own child. Mom was always worried people would find out there was something wrong with Morgan.”
“I can make my skin and movements even more realistic. No one will know I’m a robot. You two can still be the perfect family.”
As Ava said all this, the corners of her mouth lifted. She thought she had finally gotten what she wanted.
Dad stepped back and pulled a heavy utility knife from the tool bag he had prepared.
“You killed Mo, and you want to replace her.”
“You will never deserve to.”
He seized Ava by the shoulder and slashed through the synthetic skin at her neck and the protective sheath over the wiring beneath.
Plastic cracked.
Wires of different colors sparked, and the current gave off a sharp, shrill whine. The smile on Ava’s face froze.
She tried to speak, but all that came out was broken electronic static.
Dad cut the main power line and tore out the control board.
