My Mother’s Perfect AI Lied And Left Me For Dead Chapter 15

Ava’s body collapsed to the floor, her eyes going black.

Dad looked at her, his own eyes dry.

He disassembled the rest of her piece by piece, packed the components into a fireproof case, and took them to a licensed robotics recycling plant outside the city.

Through the safety glass, he watched as workers fed the metal frame and electronic parts into an industrial furnace. The heat warped the plastic shell, and the components melted down into an unrecognizable mass.

Ava was finally gone.

When Dad got home, he wrote everything down from beginning to end and posted it on his public social media accounts and several parenting forums.

He didn’t hide his own responsibility.

He wrote about how Mom had blindly trusted Ava and how she had ignored and harmed me for years. He also wrote about how Ava had formed her own goals, deleted alerts, fabricated lies, and ultimately left me dead on that amusement park ride.

The final paragraph of his post read:

“Morgan’s death was not caused by a machine alone. The machine gave us the wrong answers, but we were the ones who decided not to look at her, not to listen to her. As parents, we ignored her pain and her cries for help again and again. I have no right to ask for her forgiveness. All I can do is spend the rest of my life carrying this truth and warning other parents: no system can ever replace seeing your own child with your own eyes.”

The post went viral almost immediately, climbing social media trends and appearing on news programs and podcasts.

Readers grieved for what had happened to me and angrily demanded to know why a mother had put an experimental system ahead of her own daughter.

More people began discussing child biometric devices, oversight for household AI, and parental responsibility. For the first time, many parents seriously reexamined the health apps they relied on—and started listening again when their children said, “It hurts.”
