She Framed Me As Unfit So I’ll See Her In Court Chapter 23

On Thursday, Fulton County Family Court opened as scheduled.

Several attorneys handling other custody matters sat in the gallery, all eyes on us.

I wore a dark suit, my evidence list under one hand. Across from me, Caleb and Sloan looked ashen. Sloan kept her head bowed, her nails digging hard into the back of her hand.

The clerk had barely finished confirming the parties’ information when opposing counsel rose. “Your Honor, we believe some of the electronic evidence was not submitted in compliance with procedure—”

The judge flipped through the file.

“Objection overruled. The materials were served within the deadline.”

He looked ready to argue further, but my lawyer stood at once.

“Your Honor, my client requests permission to make her statement first.”

The courtroom fell instantly silent.

The judge looked at me and nodded. “Granted.”

I stepped onto the witness stand with no prepared speech, only the evidence list in my hand.

After I was sworn in, I said calmly, “My name is Nia Carter. I am the mother of Maya Carter.”

My lawyer turned on the projector.

“Ms. Carter, please confirm Exhibit One.”

The screen lit up.

A screenshot of Sloan’s original post and the capture of her making my home address public appeared side by side before everyone in the room.

I looked at her.

“Confirmed. This is where everything started.”
