She Stole My Fiancé So I Married The Prince Chapter 01
When I was given a second chance at life, I graciously handed my parents and my fiancé back to the adopted daughter who had lived my life for twenty years.
I stopped competing with her.
When my mother threw her a lavish twenty-first birthday gala, I took the gold wolf-emblem brooch Queen Evelyn Fraser had given me and pinned it to her gown.
When my father decided to tear down my suite to build her a climate-controlled recovery wing, I moved out of the Westvale Pack’s Alpha residence that same day.
Even when the marriage contract arrived from the Eastmere Pack, I was the one who personally filled in Isabella Parker’s name.
And I petitioned the royal family to let me accompany Prince Rowan—stripped of his succession rights—to the northern frontier.
In my previous life, I had craved my biological parents’ love and desperately tried to win the affection of my fiancé, Adrian Cole.
Instead, they saw it as me competing with Isabella for their attention, and their hatred for me only grew.
On our wedding day, Adrian abandoned me at the altar and left with Isabella. I was left in the Eastmere Pack to care for his mother, who was paralyzed after a stroke.
I worked myself into an early grave. As I lay dying, I heard my father’s voice come through the hospital room monitor, complaining, “If I’d known she’d make Isabella suffer this much, I never would have brought her back.”
My mother sounded relieved. “It’s for the best if she dies. Then Isabella can marry Adrian, fair and square.”
Down the hall, Adrian had already changed into his formalwear, preparing to give Isabella the wedding she deserved.
As the sound of celebration music drifted into my room, I took my last breath, tears tracking paths down my face.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back in the first month after I was brought home to the Westvale Pack.
This time, I wanted none of it.
I was going back to the North. I would never see them again.
…
Queen Evelyn slid two documents across the table toward me.
The first was a royal transfer order signed by Alpha King Cedric Fraser, ruler of the Kingdom of Alderwyn. In three days, Prince Rowan Fraser—whose succession rights had been revoked—would depart the capital for the Northreach defense district on the northern frontier. I would accompany him as a royal horse trainer.
The second was my Pack status transfer paperwork.
From the moment it took effect, Camille Parker would voluntarily withdraw from the Westvale Pack, renounce all claims to the Parker family inheritance, and reject Alpha Gerald’s authority and protection.
Blood ties couldn’t be erased from the official records, but under the kingdom’s Pack system, it was the closest thing to a complete severance possible.
Queen Evelyn took my hand, her eyes filled with pity.
“Northreach borders an enemy kingdom, and rogues cross the line often. Rowan might be going there under the guise of assisting the defense, but in reality, his return to the capital is highly unlikely.”
“Camille, if you regret this, I can ask King Cedric to withdraw the order right now.”
I shook my head firmly.
“Your Majesty, I don’t regret it.”
“I grew up in the North. That’s my home.”
If my biological parents only wanted Isabella, then I would let them have her. She could remain the one and only daughter of the Westvale Pack.
The royal convoy would depart in three days.
When I returned to the Alpha residence to pack, I found Luna Marianne Parker and Isabella waiting in my room.
The moment I walked in, my mother asked impatiently, “Where have you been this time? Isabella skipped lunch waiting for you.”
Her gaze swept over me from head to toe, her frown deepening.
“You’re the publicly acknowledged biological daughter of Westvale’s Alpha now. Must you keep running off to the stables? You smell of horses. You have no sense of decorum at all.”
Then she gestured to a red gown lying on the sofa.
The neckline plunged so low it was almost obscene, and cheap sequins were stitched along the sides of the waist. It looked more like a nightclub performer’s costume than something fit for the capital’s elite.
“Isabella picked this out especially for you. Wear it to the gala in three days.”
In my previous life, I had burst into tears the moment I saw it.
The capital’s media would be there that night, along with representatives from the Royal Council and the young heirs of every Pack. And yet my mother wanted me dressed like a tawdry laughingstock, all so Isabella would look noble and refined by comparison.
I had begged her to let me wear something else, even offering to wear one of Isabella’s old gowns.
Her answer had been a brutal slap across my face.
“You’re nothing but a wild girl raised on a border horse farm. You think you’re worthy of wearing Isabella’s clothes?”
“If we didn’t need you there to prove Westvale Pack accepted the blood test results, you wouldn’t even be attending this gala.”
This time, I picked up the dress without a word.
As my fingers traced the waist seam, I felt where half the stitching had been deliberately cut.
If I made a single turn in front of the guests, the fabric would split wide open. The cameras on site would broadcast my humiliation across the kingdom, giving the Eastmere Pack all the public justification it needed to cancel my engagement and choose Isabella instead.
Seeing me remain silent, Isabella wrapped an arm around my mother’s, her eyes instantly welling up.
“Mom, it’s okay if Camille doesn’t like it.”
“She must still blame me. If I hadn’t taken her place, she wouldn’t have been stranded out there all these years.”
My mother’s face darkened, and she was about to scold me when I took the dress and walked into the dressing room.
I changed into it and stepped out calmly.
The staff in the hallway saw me and immediately covered their mouths to hide their laughter. Isabella’s personal assistant even lifted her phone, ready to capture the inevitable embarrassment.
I did a slow turn in front of my mother.
Once she confirmed the outfit had no chance of overshadowing Isabella, a smile finally touched her lips.
“That’s my good daughter.”
“After you came back, the Eastmere Pack invoked the old agreement and demanded the marriage alliance be with you. I had no choice but to find a way to make them choose Isabella again.”
“She’s thought of herself as Adrian’s future wife since she was a little girl. Losing all of that overnight is hard enough. Don’t blame her.”
My mother had forgotten something.
If Isabella’s biological mother hadn’t switched our records at birth, I never would have been taken from Westvale Pack in the first place.
Later, afraid the truth would be discovered, that woman sold me to illegal brokers, who sent me to the remotest corner of the North.
The marriage alliance between Westvale and Eastmere had always been about shared trade routes and mutual border reinforcements. As Alpha Gerald’s only biological daughter, I was the bride named in the original agreement.
Isabella had taken my parents, my identity, and my engagement.
My mother didn’t see the tragedy in me being sold from hand to hand, surviving only by doing the hardest labor on a horse farm.
She saw the tragedy in a counterfeit losing something that was never hers to begin with.
I smiled, then unpinned the gold wolf-emblem brooch from my coat.
“Mom, I’ve never blamed Isabella.”
“Queen Evelyn gave this to me after I calmed a frightened racehorse for her. Put it on Isabella’s gown for the gala.”
“If the Eastmere Pack sees the royal insignia, maybe they’ll value her more.”
My mother snatched it from my hand and pinned it to Isabella’s chest herself.
I didn’t own many valuable things.
Let the brooch be repayment for the debt of my birth.
From that moment on, we owed each other nothing.
But my mother mistook my surrender for maturity.
A flicker of guilt crossed her face, and she came over to take my hand.
“Camille, I’m not playing favorites. Isabella just needs this gala more right now.”
“Once Eastmere cancels your engagement, I’ll throw you a birthday party of your own. I’ll even find you a suitable man.”
I nodded obediently.
But I caught the flash of resentment in Isabella’s eyes.
Just then, Alpha Gerald Parker walked into my suite with Adrian and an architectural designer.
As everyone’s attention shifted to the door, Isabella suddenly stepped on the hem of my gown and clawed at the sabotaged waist seam.
