The Alpha’s Daughter Chapter 05
I pressed down my urge to kill and looked at Lucian.
“This is my home. I can throw out whoever I want. What does it have to do with you?”
“If you pity her, take her home yourself.”
Lucian’s face darkened. “Selene is your cousin. You killed an innocent man, and now you threw her out. How can there be a woman as cold-blooded as you?”
I smiled.
“Did you know the guard I killed was having an affair with her?”
Lucian froze and glanced at Selene.
Selene cried, “I wasn’t!”
“Now you are slandering her?” Lucian flew into a rage.
“I know you are jealous of my feelings for Selene. Let me tell you, Aurora. Even if you and I marry one day, I will still be with her. I will never love a vicious woman like you. Give up.”
I was stunned.
In my mind, I asked the Script: [Is he insane? Is this novel world normal?]
The Script asked cautiously: [What is wrong with that?]
I almost laughed from anger.
[He is the heir of a vassal pack raised up by the Blackwoods. He is standing in front of the Alpha’s daughter, announcing that even if he marries me, he will keep another woman. Does he think the Greymark Pack has lived too long?]
The Script went silent. After a long while, it whispered: [The heroine loves him. The heroine would not hold it against him.]
I understood.
These people dared take an inch and demand a mile because the original heroine never held anything against them.
Unfortunately for them, someone else was inside this body now.
I looked at Lucian.
“If you did not want to be engaged to me, why did you agree when my father asked you?”
“Do you know the price for deceiving Alpha Rowan and insulting the Blackwood Pack?”
“Guards!” I pointed at Lucian. “Seize this man who deceived his patron. I will report this to my father myself.”
My guards were already used to this and moved quickly, pinning Lucian down.
Lucian still thought I was trying to scare him. He lifted his head and sneered.
“Do you think threatening me will make me afraid? Aurora, if you want to use power to force me into submission, keep dreaming.”
I was too lazy to waste words on him.
“Take him to my father.”
Only after we entered the pack house did Lucian realize I was serious.
He gritted his teeth. “Aurora, have you lost your mind? When did I deceive the Alpha? You threw Selene out, and I only stood up for her. How does that count as deceiving your pack?”
After a few more steps, his voice lowered.
“This is between us. Alpha Rowan deals with pack affairs every day. It is bad enough that we cannot help him. How can we bother him with something like this?”
I smiled. “It is also Father’s pack matter. I doubt he will find it troublesome to learn that his daughter has been wronged.”
Lucian’s posture finally softened.
“There is nothing between Selene and me. I only thought she was pitiful. You do not need to make such a scene.”
Selene, dragged along beside him, had gone pale with fear. She sobbed as she spoke.
“Cousin, Lucian and I are innocent. I am your own cousin. Aunt Mara told you to take good care of me. If she knew, she would be heartbroken.”
“No matter.” I waved a hand. “Your aunt offended the Blackwood Pack this morning and has been locked in the west wing for the rest of her life. I doubt she will know. Even if she does, she has no time to worry about you.”
Selene went completely limp. The guards dragged her onward.
When we reached the door of the council room, I prepared my emotions, burst into loud sobs, and ran inside.
“Father, Father! You have to stand up for me!”
