The Annoying Sleepwalker Chapter 09

The Annoying Sleepwalker Chapter 09

She cried out, “You’re framing me!”

I nodded.

“Then let’s go to the campus health center and get you evaluated.”

Blair froze.

I continued.

“If she really has a serious sleepwalking disorder, then we handle this as a safety issue.”

“Contact her parents.”

“Arrange a room change.”

“She can’t keep living with us at night.”

“And her parents can discuss compensation.”

“If the evaluation finds nothing, then we handle this as intentional property damage.”

Ms. Albright fell silent.

Tessa clutched her iPad and said immediately, “I agree to the evaluation.”

Mallory said, “Me too.”

Genevieve added, “I have to answer for the school’s equipment.”

At last, Blair realized the game had changed.

Before, everyone had helped pressure me into backing down.

Now, because their own property was on the line, they were the ones pushing her into the formal process.

Sitting on the floor, she cried so hard she could barely breathe.

“How can you all do this to me?”

“I told you I didn’t do it on purpose!”

I looked at her and spoke slowly.

“Blair, weren’t you the one who said you aren’t conscious when you sleepwalk?”

“We’re just trying to help you figure out what’s wrong.”

“Why won’t you agree?”

Of course she wouldn’t agree.

What she wanted was, *I’m sick, so I don’t have to pay.*

What she didn’t want was, *I’m sick, so I need to be evaluated, moved, and have my parents called.*

Ms. Albright told her to contact her parents that day and get medical documentation from a hospital.

Blair was crying too hard to get the words out.

“My parents are really busy. They can’t come to school over something like this.”

Mallory let out a cold laugh.

“Funny how it didn’t feel like a small thing when you were smashing my headphones.”
