The Mafia Don Killed My Groom Then Buried Me Alive Chapter 04

The Blade and the Dark

Selene snaps her fingers.

One of Adrian’s hired thugs steps forward, switchblade already open.

One of her socialite friends — the nervous one — bites her lip.

“Selene, honey… this is Adrian’s private wing.

Are you sure we should go this hard?

Like, right here?”

Selene doesn’t even blink.

“Sure?I’m his future wife. This whole compound is basically already mine.I can gut a homewrecker on my own turf and nobody says a damn word.”

“Besides — Adrian’s crazy about me.

Even if I killed this bitch, he wouldn’t so much as frown at me.”

The other girls jump in fast.

“Yeah!

Adrian would kiss the ground Selene walks on.”

“He’d probably thank her for handling the trash.”

“Hell, he might even upgrade her to Mrs.

Vitale after this!”

That’s all the nervous one needs.

She settles back to watch the show, grinning.

I’m on the ground, staring at that blade.

It’s inches from my face and getting closer.

“I’m his WIFE!” I scream.

“You’re all dead — you hear me?

DEAD!”

Nobody flinches.

The thug drops down, straddles me.

Two of the socialites pin my arms so hard I feel my shoulders pop.

I thrash.

I can’t move.

The blade slides between my teeth.

One flick.

Blood.

So much blood.

Something wet and warm slaps against my chin, then hits the stone.

My tongue.

The pain is unreal.

I try to scream and only a wet gurgle comes out.

I’m a puddle.

I’m meat.

Selene stands over me, arms crossed, smirking like she’s just won something.

“Aw, sweetie.

Even if you had my face, Adrian would never look twice.

He loves ME.

Just me.”

“But since you’re clearly starving for a man…” She glances back at her thugs.

“Boys?

She’s all yours.

Whoever puts on the best show gets ten grand cash.”

Their eyes light up like Christmas.

They rush me all at once.

I can’t fight.

I can’t scream.

I can’t do anything.

Adrian never touched me.

Not once in three years.

He said he’d wait until I gave myself to him.

He said I was his forever, and forever could wait.

Now I’m being torn apart by his own men in his own house.

Tears pour down my face.

I can’t make a sound.

“Adrian,” I think, “is this what you wanted?”

Selene’s friends are cackling and stroking her ego.

“Selene, you were BORN to run this compound, babe.”

“Look at her cry.

That’ll teach her to sniff around your man.”

Then one of them spots the framed photos on my patio table.

She snatches one up, waves it at Selene.

“OH MY GOD.

Look!

It’s you and Adrian!

He’s been hiding your couple photos in here!

That’s why nobody’s allowed in — he keeps his little shrine to you!”

“He loves you WAY more than we thought!”

“Girl, you’re basically already Mrs.

Vitale!”

Selene beams at the photo like she just won the whole damn city.

Then one of the thugs stops.

Frowns.

Backs off me.

“Boss lady,” he says slowly, pointing.

“She… she’s dead.”

Selene wrinkles her nose in disgust.

“Ugh.

Buzzkill.

Drag her out, bury her, get her out of Adrian’s sight.”

The gate swings open.

“What the HELL is going on here?”

Adrian walks in.
