The Prince Let Me Die Now He Begs For My Love Chapter 16

I told my mother everything.

The anonymous correspondence, Evelyn copying my letters, my silence at the mate-selection banquet, and Adrian beginning to suspect the truth.

My mother was so shocked she couldn’t speak for a long time.

“How could you dare hide something like this from the heir to the throne?”

“This isn’t some ordinary romantic quarrel. One mistake could affect the relationship between Cedarbrook Pack and the Crown!”

In her anger, she slapped me.

But in the very next second, she pulled me into her arms and started crying before I did.

“This is my fault.”

“I’ve demanded too much of you ever since you were little.”

“I always wanted you to be exceptional, wanted you to marry into the Royal Family, wanted you to stand higher and live better.”

“It was my pressure that made you want nothing but escape, and that pushed you into this danger.”

Then she asked me, “Do you still want to marry Adrian?”

I shook my head immediately.

My mother held me more tightly.

“Then you won’t marry him.”

“Even if he is the heir to the throne, he can’t force the daughter of a Pack Alpha into marriage without consequences.”

She sighed.

“It’s just that if the Mercers find out you once had this kind of relationship with Adrian…”

I went quiet.

The Mercers might not govern any territory, but they owned the kingdom’s most important logistics company.

And Gavin was Adrian’s cousin.

He hadn’t wanted to get married in the first place.

If he learned I had corresponded with Adrian for three years while hiding my identity, there was no way he would accept it.

At last, I made up my mind.

“Not getting married is fine, too.”

“Please cancel the engagement for me.”

“Afterward, send me away from the capital. I can go back to Cedarbrook territory, or somewhere no one knows me.”
