The Stolen Savior: He Loved The Wrong Sister Chapter 09

Lucian’s expression darkened. A creeping sense that everything was about to spiral out of control settled over him.

He hated this feeling. He needed to find Nora immediately.

So he summoned everyone in the house to the living room and interrogated them one by one about Nora’s whereabouts.

He wanted to know if anyone had taken her to the hospital last night.

But every face looked more guilty than the last. After questioning everyone, not a single person had taken Nora to the hospital.

“She is my girlfriend.” Lucian’s expression grew more terrifying by the second. “You all saw what happened last night. Did even one of you take her to the hospital?”

Everyone was too terrified to breathe. Then a young maid spoke up, her voice trembling. “Mr. Hawthorne, when I got up to use the restroom last night, I think I saw Miss Hartley go into your study.”

Without hesitation, Lucian rushed to the study.

But the study was empty. No sign of Nora.

Only dried bloodstains on the floor, not yet cleaned.

The blood was jarring. Lucian’s breath caught. He hadn’t realized they’d beaten her that badly.

Nora had always been so gentle with everyone. How could they hurt her like this?

A strange feeling stirring in his chest, Lucian followed the bloodstains, trying to figure out why Nora had dragged her wounded body into his study.

Then he saw the envelope on the desk.

On it, Nora had written one line in her neat handwriting: “For Lucian’s eyes only.”

Lucian’s breath hitched. He tore the envelope open.
