The Underboss’s Doormat Wife Is The Don’s Queen Chapter 02
The Perfect Doormat
After sharing my location, I stare blankly at Mia.
“What if I do mind?” I ask.
Mia puts on an apologetic expression and weakly tries to push Dante away, but he tightens his arm around her.
“We’ve done it so many times, Aria. Do you really think you can separate us now?”
Dante laughs and looks directly into my eyes.
“Didn’t you say it yourself? You’re too boring in bed. You can’t satisfy me.”
He says it to Mia, but his mocking gaze never leaves me.
Mia gives me a fake, worried look.
“He’s just joking, Aria. He’s just teasing you.”
My nails dig deeper into my palms.
I let out a soft, breathy, “Oh.”
“Then let me go with you to take her home.”
“What did you just say?” Mia asks, genuinely stunned.
“Didn’t you say your head hurts? My husband and I will take you home.”
With that, I step forward and firmly grab Dante’s arm, pulling him toward me.
Seeing how desperately I cling to him, Mia freezes for a second, then bursts into laughter.
She leans in and presses herself against Dante’s other arm.
“Wow. So you finally learned how to get jealous? A little temper makes you cute.”
Their movements and words are so natural, as if betraying me right in front of my face means nothing.
But I don’t let a single crack show.
Years ago, a rival gang cornered Dante in an alley, threatening to slaughter our entire crew.
I played the terrified, weeping girl, hiding behind him.
Dante fought them off, bleeding and bruised. Afterward, he glared at me and said, “You need to grow a spine, Aria.”
He thought he was my great protector.
He thought his threats were what drove the rival boss out of the city.
He didn’t know that while he was fighting, I had secretly sent the man’s extortion ledgers straight to the Feds.
The rival boss fled because he was terrified of federal prison, not Dante’s fists.
I kept the truth to myself.
I let Dante take the credit.
I let him climb all the way to Underboss.
I thought, if being the submissive wife fed his ego, what did it matter?
He was my husband.
But I never expected my submission to become the weapon he would eventually use against me.
“But I booked a penthouse suite at the Valenti Hotel. Who said I wanted to go home?”
Mia’s voice pulls me back.
She blinks at me, smug satisfaction written all over her face.
She looks at Dante.
“Don’t you want to go? But bringing Aria along… wouldn’t she ruin the mood?”
Mia’s gaze shifts between Dante and me.
Before she can say another word, I speak first.
“Dante, come home with me.”
I stare at him, making my voice small and pleading.
Right in front of me, Dante’s hand slides down Mia’s lower back.
He looks at her with open lust.
“I already sent that black lace set you wanted me to wear to the hotel,” Mia whispers. “If you miss it tonight, I’ll never wear it again.”
Dante’s pupils dilate.
The hunger in his eyes is impossible to miss.
“Aria, go home,” Dante finally says, looking at me with barely concealed irritation.
I stare at him, pretending to be utterly heartbroken.
“Are you sure?”
He nods, frowning impatiently.
“Be a good girl. Listen to me, unless you want me to divorce you.”
I take a deep breath.
Mia lets out a sharp, cruel giggle.
“Unless you want to stay and watch us? I don’t think so. That might be a little too much for you.”
