The Unsent Appeal Chapter 11

The Unsent Appeal Chapter 11

Tyler invited relatives and family friends over and shared the news that I had become a senior executive.

Hearing the guests praise me, my parents finally smiled. They even booked a table at a Michelin-starred restaurant to celebrate with everyone.

Allison had never gotten that kind of treatment, not even on her birthday.

Bathed in all that praise, my parents grew more and more excited.

One relative suggested they use my title to build a social media presence.

“Everyone knows the company Chloe works for.”

“If you mention her name, it’ll be easy to win people’s trust.”

“Once you have followers, you can do affiliate marketing or livestream sales.”

Dad didn’t know how to set up accounts or go live, so Allison immediately offered up her TikTok.

“My little sister has such a wonderful career now. Of course I’m happy for her.”

“I want to help promote her, too.”

My parents praised her for being so thoughtful and urged her to start a livestream.

But Allison said she wanted to post a few short videos first to build anticipation.

My parents didn’t understand any of it, so they left it in her hands.

She agreed with a smile.

No one saw the look in her eyes as she lowered her head.

Holding her phone, she let a disturbing smile curl her lips.

Once the first few videos went up, the comment section spiraled out of control almost immediately.

In less than two days, the account gained tens of thousands of followers, and the likes were climbing fast.

My parents wanted to watch the videos, but Allison wouldn’t let them.

“If you’re putting me in charge of the account, then don’t interfere with the content.”

She held her phone tightly, her eyes constantly darting away from theirs.

Mom watched her for a long moment.

“Allie, are you hiding something from us?”

Before Allison could answer, Tyler came rushing out of his bedroom.

All the blood had drained from his face.

“Dad, Mom, people online are attacking you.”

My parents didn’t understand.
