Isolde disappeared.
At first, Tucker didn’t think anything of it.
Isolde was a surgeon. Her schedule was usually packed, and more often than not, she didn’t even have time for dinner with him.
Three months ago, Sloane had pulled that “fake pregnancy” prank and damaged her ear.
Only then had Isolde finally had some time off.
At the time, Tucker had actually been a little annoyed with Sloane.
Later, though, he bought Sloane the car she’d been eyeing for ages.
The car was both an apology and a reward.
When the heir of the Moretti Family rewarded the daughter of the Ferraro Family after Isolde was hurt, he was effectively telling everyone that Sloane would pay no price.
Now that Isolde’s hearing had mostly recovered, Tucker figured she had probably gone back to living at the hospital.
“She’ll be at the wedding in three days,” Tucker said with absolute certainty.
Isolde always kept her word.
Once she promised something, she wouldn’t back out unless it crossed the one line she absolutely could not tolerate.
Before, when his father had tried to force them apart, he had cut off Tucker’s personal accounts and recalled all his men.
Isolde hadn’t backed down.
At the engagement party not long ago, Sloane had said she wanted to test Isolde’s alcohol tolerance.
After Isolde got drunk, she had been dumped outside a bar in the middle of the night and nearly abducted by a stranger.
That time, too, she had vanished for a few days in anger.
But when the day came to meet the wedding planner, she had still shown up on time.
