The Wedding Game That Cost Him Everything Chapter 08
Sloane froze for a second, then shoved him.
“Don’t be such a sore loser. Which of the things I did to her happened without your approval?”
“Now your woman runs off, and you’re taking it out on me?”
Tucker couldn’t deny it.
A lot of the time, he really had been tired of that proper, orderly life.
Isolde expected him to keep his promises, to come home on time, to act like a normal man in a relationship—not like an heir who could silence a room with a single sentence.
The moment Sloane came back, she had filled that void perfectly.
She made him feel like his power could erase all consequences.
But that didn’t mean he would give up Isolde.
Of Isolde’s family, he had only ever kept one contact number—her cousin’s.
Now that number had blocked him, too.
Tucker gripped his phone so hard he wanted to smash it.
In the end, he called the hospital.
He had to explain.
This was all Sloane’s fault.
He had only wanted to scare Isolde a little. He had never intended for things to go this far.
“Dr. Blake has resigned. You have some nerve calling here.”
The person who answered was one of the interns Isolde had supervised.
As if afraid he hadn’t heard clearly enough, the intern went on.
“At the wedding, you hired people to tear her dress and put their hands on her. You stayed tangled up with that ally’s daughter who treats cruelty like a game, and in the end, you scattered her parents’ ashes. How do you still have the gall to look for her?”
Tucker went pale.
Just as he opened his mouth, someone else took the phone.
This person had an even worse temper and immediately started cursing him out.
Tucker had always known Isolde was close to her colleagues.
