The Widow’s Fate They Chose Was My Escape Plan Chapter 30

Every eye in the room turned to the chairman.

That urgent report was the one he had personally thrown at Adrian three years ago.

“You’re lying!” the chairman shouted, lurching to his feet. “That report was compiled from external sources. It had nothing to do with my office.”

I didn’t argue.

I simply submitted the timestamp from the encrypted message to the committee.

Not long after the contractor sent his transmission, the urgent report had been labeled *Attorney-Client Privileged* and sent to the chairman’s office.

One of the directors suddenly asked, “If it was unverified, why did the chairman disclose the death-pact rumor to the Sterling family?”

Another followed immediately. “And why, after receiving that message, did you move so quickly to remove Adrian from his position and terminate the contract with Sterling Holdings?”

The chairman’s breathing fell apart.

Back then, certain that Sebastian would die, he had used that information to purge the Sterling family.

Now, however, he had just described it as unverified.

If he admitted it was true, he was admitting he had illegally monitored and exploited private information to crush a related company.

If he denied it was true, he was admitting he knew it was unverified and still used it to influence board actions.

No matter which way he turned, all he could prove was that he had lied.

After a long silence, he suddenly pointed at me.

“It was her! She designed all of this!”

“She deceived the Sterlings first, then tricked Sebastian into using sedatives. She’s the one behind everything!”

I watched him lose control in silence.

“Yes, I was the one who suggested medication under a doctor’s supervision. I’m also the one who voluntarily submitted the records.”

“But the person who wanted Sebastian’s condition to worsen was never me.”
