They Canceled My Ticket I Canceled Them Chapter 04
That night, when I returned to the hotel, they spotted me at the front desk.
All four of them were carrying shopping bags. A new scarf was draped around Madison’s neck.
Tyler froze when he saw me walk in, completely unharmed.
“Where were you all afternoon?”
“I went to a few places I wanted to see.”
I pressed the elevator button.
Marcus came over, blocking the doors.
“So now you’re not even pretending to care, is that it?”
“You can see it that way.”
I looked up at him.
“Please move. I’m going to my room.”
The flat tone of my voice made his face turn ugly.
Suddenly, he stepped aside.
“Fine. Let’s see how long you can keep this up.”
He turned to Daniel and Tyler.
“If she doesn’t want to be with us, she can sort out her own flight home. Daniel, don’t give her the ticket for tomorrow night.”
Tyler jumped in immediately.
“Exactly. Flight’s at eight tomorrow night. If you can’t get a ticket, enjoy being stranded.”
Madison tugged on Marcus’s sleeve.
“Don’t be like that. What if Ellie can’t get a ticket?”
“Hasn’t she been saying she can handle herself? Then let her.”
The elevator doors slid shut, cutting off their deliberately loud voices.
Leaning against the elevator wall, I took out my phone and looked up flights.
