Tit For Tat Chapter 15

Tit For Tat Chapter 15

Sloane was still crying.

“You thought it was funny too. Why are you putting all the blame on me now?”

Adrian suddenly looked up.

“I never told you to edit videos and spread lies!”

“But you made me believe that no matter what I did to her, you would protect me first.”

After that line landed, no one spoke.

I stopped the recording on my phone.

“Send the original file to my legal team.”

Sloane glared at me.

“Why should I?”

“Because this is evidence that the two of you conspired to use company guest data, discussed the scope of distribution, and confirmed the send.”

“You can refuse.”

“But the forensics team can get a court order for your cloud backups.”

Her face shifted from green to white.

After a few seconds, she shrieked, “Why are you playing the victim?”

“If Adrian hadn’t dragged you away from the Bennett house three years ago, who would even look at you?”

“Everything you have now is because he carried you through the worst time of your life!”

“Enough!” Adrian barked.

But I held up a hand to stop him.

I looked at Sloane.

“Yes, I was a mess three years ago.”

“But even at my lowest, I never stole another woman’s photos and turned her into merchandise for a roomful of people to laugh at.”

“If you wanted Adrian, you could have just gone after him.”

“Don’t turn hurting me into foreplay for the two of you.”

Her face went ashen.

I pressed the intercom.

“Please send security up.”

Before Sloane was escorted out, she looked back at Adrian.

“You sent that email.”

“You’ll never be able to wash that off.”

The door closed.

Adrian stood frozen, his gaze fixed on my phone.

For the first time, I saw real fear on his face.

Not fear of the media.

Not fear of the project.

It was the fear that he could no longer tell himself he’d just been a bystander to Sloane’s malice.

The click had come from his hand.

And the words— “She won’t break up with me “—had come from his own certainty.
